AR-15 Stock

first off this product is a great idea IMO. the quaility is top notch but… i have the leo mount and i cant get far enough down for my bead sight. i dont want to put something taller on there since i prefer the factory bead on the 870 i put this on. anyone else having this problem? i was hoping for a similar cheek weld to the factory stock. i absolutely love this piece except for using the front bead…and being comfortable with my sights is the most important thing to me here. Gungho_1989 5/21/2008 9:40:19 AM With the Low tube and the LEO some people cannot get a normal sight picture. I am one of those people who like you felt I couldn’t get all the way down to where I needed to be. What I ended up doing was installing a set of Trijicon ghost rings on the shotgun. I know this is not what you want to do but it was the only thing that worked for me. I have a friend who is very proficient with a shotgun and her recently purchased a LEO stock set off us and still uses his bead and does pretty dang good with it. when we were out at the range the first time we took it out he commented on it and started shooting. My guess is he holds off the target just a little different, knightvision 5/21/2008 12:56:34 PM thanks for the reply. i wish i would have known this prior. i actually had some wilson combat ghost rings i bought and then decided i wanted to leave just the bead sight. i sold the ghost rings NIB. i can get down enough to use the bead but i have to fight it and it takes too much time to get on target. i also use this shotgun for skeet shooting so the extra time needed is out of the question. ive had the Mesa Tactical adapter on there awhile and taken the 870 out numerous times just to keep trying it because it is such a well made piece. i am trying to make myself love it and just can get to that point. i am so hesitant to sell this piece but i need the right sight picture. Branspop 5/21/2008 10:29:08 PM What about these? Would they sit high enough?

I don’t think slam fires are a problem on properly maintained SKS Rifle Stocks rifles otherwise everyone would be selling springs for them.

There were but not many compared to the number of pressed and pinned guns.

Go to www.sksboards.com and start posting, and looking there. You can also post a WTB ad, but you may have to make a small donation to the site. That sorta makes you a of the site and lets you see the all of the classifieds and post in the classifieds as well.
Was at a local shop and saw a Glnic imports SKS Rifle Stocks marked “CGA made in China” . It is in excellent condition, all matching, machined trigger group, screw in barrel, and spike bayo. They want $295.00. Never heard of this importer or manufacturer. Is this a good gun?

Make sure you take the entire bolt apart once and awhile and actually clean out the channel and check for rust. Assuming you do that and don’t regularly shoot corrosive ammo through it without totally cleaning it out… you’ll be fine.

Just re what can happen when you drop the bolt on any gun and have it pointed downrange or into the dirt.

I’ve installed murray’s pins…Seems like a good idea but still won’t prevent it from happening if the the bolt gets filled with rust.

IMO and experience no mod is necessary. Proper and regular maintenance is all that is required. It has been my experience that SKS`s that were recently packed in grease were the worst culprit for slam fires. Here is where a complete bolt disassembly can help along with a good soaking in gasoline or kerosene and a rubdown with good ol` Dawn dish soap. Then rinse thoroghly, wipe dry, and immediately apply some Break Free CLP or any other higher grade gun oil. Happy Shots

The Murray firing pin actually looks a lot like the original SKS Rifle Stocks firing pin design.

The Surefire X300 is a great light! However, on an AR, I find the M600C scout more user-friendly. Both are VERY durable, exceptionally made, and will throw out useful light easily to 75 yards with the naked eye, or out to 100+ if you have a good optic with a large exit pupil dia. like an ACOG. Surefire warrenty is the best out there. I bought an old M600A with the old-style tail cap before surefire revised them to eliminate a sticking problem (one of the few complaints about SF was their clicky from a year or 2 back). I called them, told them what I had, and they promptly shipped me not one, but TWO Z68 tail-caps ($40MSRP a piece). Within 1 week of my phone-call I had them. txgp17 2/19/2009 1:53:49 PM I have a Surefire X300 and it kicks ass.

AR 15 gas block

This thread is in no way intended to bash Trijicon. I am just wondering if any other Accupoint owners have experienced this problem or did I just get lucky? I just initiated contact with Trijicon today about the problem and hope to hear back from them soon. With that being said here is what I managed to do with said scope, and some 175grn 7.62×51 FGMM, and some 168grn .308 FGMM!! These are my best groups yet. I am a bit of a newbie you will have to forgive my excitement lol Both photos are of the same target center bullseye is 168grn 308 above it is the 175grn 7.62×51 Chrome308 Apr 2011 USA TX, USA 34 : 0-0-0 : 5/25/2011 10:28:26 great groups. After having issues (huge water leak) with my TR24 and dealing with Trijicon‘s shitty service I sold it. I don’t know if eyepiece slippage is normal or not, but a piece of tape should fix it ;) When I dialed in my new TR24 recently I noticed that the focus ring moved fairly easily. Mine doesn’t move easily enough to be considered “loose”, but it certainly moved with less friction than I was expecting. Once I installed a set of Butler Creek flip-up caps the low friction issue went away.

Hearing Protection

I never fired mine and I had paint chipping off around the barrel so I took it back to my dealer and the traded me for a 870P that has a much better finsh. I do think that the asking price of the Desert Recon is way to much…For less money you can get into a Express Tactical. They both have a rather weak finish IMO but the black will not show the wear as bad as the olive finsh. LoadedDrum 3/8/2009 8:43:56 AM I do not own one but I shot one and it was easily the softest shooting pump I have ever tried. I actually prefer it to my 870P with a Knox stock so much so that I am switching to a Speedfeed IV-S with the Limbsaver pad (same as the R3 pad on the Tac Desert Recon). onekneedown 3/8/2009 12:27:04 PM Here’s a pic that I found that shows the same problem I had…I have several sets of brand new take off stocks from Remington 870 Accessories 12ga. Police Shotguns. They are black synthetic, include the stock screw, and have the new Remington R3 Limbsaver butt stock. The price is 50.00 shipped to the con.48 via Priority Mail. 762minigun2 2/12/2010 6:13:18 PM Could you please post a pic of said stock sets? cheby39 2/13/2010 8:49:07 AM http://feed2.tinypic.com/rss.php?ua=XvDNglrZeCAzVq3lPJk0CQ%3D%3D[/img] Copy and paste, sorry for the problem. cheby39 2/13/2010 8:54:06 AM http://tinypic.com/a/1m2qf/2[/img] Copy and paste, sorry for the problem. Snookman24 2/13/2010 6:51:47 PM Is it stock and FOREND? or just the stock? Title and description are a tad different? Thanks cheby39 2/13/2010 10:57:56 PM It is for both stock and forend with the butt stock screw and R3 butt pad and the screws for the butt pad.
